Something Red.
Greetings,
Welcome to the Cooper studio, Grinnell, Iowa.
In my last post, I mentioned Bluff Strokes, a plein air event at Dubuque, Iowa.
Bluff Strokes is not geared to be a learning experience for artists, but that did not stop me!
I truly feel like my plein air painting knowledge bank prospered!!
New knowledge can be good news and bad news: I tend to look at earlier paintings with the thought of what if I go back into the painting and change this? Fix that? Just a bit of an edit right there?
But here's a little gem of a painting I don't want to change anything on:

Red Mums Say Autumn oil on panel, 8x8 inches, and a website portfolio zoom view link (click link)
I painted this painting on Friday morning of Bluff Strokes week. The weather had been beautiful. And then Friday! Cold! Windy! Yikes!
As I said on my facebook (click link) page:
"Painting Friday morning 10 12 2019, with mittens on! Bluff Strokes Plein Air, Dubuque, Iowa. I chose to paint this because it was (1) tucked away out of the wind (2) a spot where IF the sun came out, it would land on me and (3) because I love red mums!"
Thanks for stopping by!
Later, Karen
Did you know I have a 'painting of the week' column at this website?
And Red Mums Say Autumn is the entry for October 16th!
Here's the link for that (click link)
